“Please do it for me I think I’m getting confused to select which route to take the Roof top of Africa. “Which route is the easiest to Mount Kilimanjaro Summit?
Mount Kilimanjaro is one of the majestic mountains in the World having six different ways to the top.
A little bit of calculation have been employed that Marangu route is for both ascending and descending for itself and other routes, Machame, Shira, Umbwe and Lemosho are for climbing only due to the nature of landscape its risky to some levels when reached to descend using them. Alternative after reaching at Uhuru Peak (5895 m) you can descend using Marangu or Mweka route. Mweka route is reserved for descending only because of preventing the ecosystem and overworking the route.
Any route planner should understand the availability of time that submitter have as well as if he/she will like to have some challenges when climbing to Mount Kilimanjaro. It should be clear that Kilimanjaro doesn’t require experience mountaineers and technique equipment to the summit but there are places when trekking challenges the climber.
There are routes which takes five days and four nights to accomplish the entry trek of which is minimal and other from six days and above. The following are the explanation of routes with their advantages and disadvantages and ultimately which route one finally chooses will depend on individual preference.
Marangu Route: The only route which provide permanent huts accommodations, with beds, flash toilets and solar electricity. The Marangu route is also known as “Coca Cola route due to its gently slopes to the peak. With all these amenities most of the people thinks that mountain sickness will not affect them take care and walk slowly to the summit each step as this is the common mistake which climbers do and fail to reach to the summit although over three quarters of climbers who attempt to reach the summit.
The rest of the Mount Kilimanjaro routes that is Machame, Umbwe, Shira and Rongai (note that I have exclude the Mweka since its reserved for descending only) have more or less characteristic of mobile tents accommodations, rocky landscape some challenges in some places to climbing to the top and the only routes that one can choose either to take normal route or use the Western Breach when reach at the Lava Tower point. The living condition on tents became slightly tougher than on the more commercial Marangu Route because of weather and wind but don’t hide yourself into the caves since the land might slide and cause accidents. It is at this point of tougher of wind and coldness that makes 90% of climbers to reach the Summit of Kilimanjaro since the body system has already acclimatize with the weather condition.
