Day 1: Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania
You will be met from your flight into Dar Es Salaam airport by our representative.  They will transfer you to the Southern Sun Hotel or similar accommodation, for one night on bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: Dar Es Salaam to Ruaha National Park, Tanzania
You will be transferred back to Dar Es Salaam Airport for your flight to Ruaha National Park, departing at 0830 hours landing in Ruaha at 0950 hours. Here you will be met by our driver guide and taken back on a short safari to Ruaha River Lodge, in time for lunch. Ruaha has gained a reputation amongst safari connoisseurs for its unique ecological and geographical character, offering a cross section of species and a climate that is unique to the country. It is the largest National Park in Africa, and the feeling of remoteness and the spirit of adventure are immense. After afternoon tea, set out on a game drive in our open-sided vehicle, following the course of the Great Ruaha River in search of wildlife. Perhaps find elephants digging for water in the dry river bed, or catch a rare sighting of the African Wild Dog. As the sun sets, stop to admire the scenery and sip on a sundowner, before heading back to camp for hot showers and convivial drinks before dinner, discussing the day’s events and swapping safari stories.

Day 3 and 4: Ruaha National Park, Tanzania
    Two days game-viewing.
Ruaha River Lodge is located about 30 minutes game drive away from the Msembe airstrip. The lodge sits proudly on the banks of the Ruaha river in southern Ruaha National Park. The main area of the lodge is split into two parts. The main reception and entrance area is set just back from the riverbank in a huge open sided structure with a large makuti roof. There are sofas, armchairs and coffee tables here to relax and enjoy the view of the river. The main restaurant is also to one side under the same structure. The other communal area is set apart, completely on the other side of the lodge, but high up on a rocky kopjie that looks down onto the river with exceptional views out over the bush. The structure is built in and around the rocks, with a big bar and various decking areas to admire the scenery. Meals also take place here.

The rooms are all dotted along the river bank with surprisingly good space between each one. They are all made out of brick and stone with makuti roofs and have a well sized veranda. The rooms are very spacious, and 24 of them can be made into triples. The bathrooms are quite alternative and boast a typical African theme. A very popular Tanzania Safari with families. Day game drives take place here in open sided vehicles.

Day 5: Selous Game Reserve to Ruaha National Park, Tanzania
You will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight which leaves at 1145 hours, arriving in Selous Game Reserve at 1300 hours. On arrival you will be met by one of the guides and driven the short distance to Rufiji River Camp. Selous is Africa’s largest Game Reserve, the size of Switzerland and one of the last great wilderness areas on the continent. You will spend three unforgettable nights here as well as taking full advantage of viewing the abundant wildlife, either by boat, vehicle or on foot. After lunch and a rested, there will be the opportunity to choose your first activity and begin to explore the Reserve, returning in time for sunset and dinner. Overnight Rufiji River Camp.

Day 6 - 8: Ruaha National Park, Tanzania
    Three days game-viewing.
Rufiji is one of the oldest lodges in the Selous, owned and run by the Foxes family. The lodge is located in the Selous Game Reserve, near the Mtemere gate, with access to the Rufiji River for boating safari.  To reach the lodge it is a 45 minute flight from Dar Es Salaam, making it very accessible and perfect for a Tanzania safari.

The main area is paved with stone and large thatched structures, giving the lodge a more permanent feel than other tented camps in the reserve.  Some soft furnishings offer a good place to relax and enjoy the views of the Rufiji River. There are 14 en suite tents along the side of the river with an open stone patio - a private spot to relax after lunch or where to take morning tea with wildlife all around you.  3 of the rooms are much larger family suites which can sleep up to 4 people. The camp offers game drives in open sided vehicles, walking Selous Safaris and also fly camping.
Day 9: safari ends in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania
You will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight at 1315 hours back to Dar-Es-Salaam, arriving at 1350 hours.
